SQL Data Warehouse free trial
December 17, 2021 – 10:53 am
SQL Data Generator - Data Generator For MS SQL Server Databases

You are eligible for a free trial if you have a Microsoft Azure account and create a data warehouse instance in one of the following regions: West US, West US2, West Central US, North Europe, West Europe, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. You may not sign up for a free trial if you have previously signed up for a free trial of Azure SQL Data Warehouse. Microsoft reserves the right to refuse to activate your free trial if it suspects that you have provided fraudulent information, have already exercised a free trial under a different name/Azure ID, or for any reason, in its sole discretion.

You need to submit your request for the free trial on or before December 31, 2017.

Once you submit your request, you’ll get emails advising on next steps, requiring you to create a server and a data warehouse instance and send the information back to Microsoft together with your Azure ID. Microsoft will send you an email confirmation once the offer has been activated on the server you identified.

The trial lasts for one month (30 consecutive calendar days). If you continue using the Azure SQL Data Warehouse service after the one-month period, you will be charged at standard rates. More details on pricing and billing can be found on our pricing page.

You may cancel the free trial at any time by deleting your database warehouse instance from your system.

You get up to 2 terabytes (TB) of storage and up to 200 DWU (Data Warehouse Units) of compute. You will not be able to use the free trial in a manner that exceeds the data storage or DWU limits. Learn more about DWUs.

To start your free trial, submit your request by providing your email and name in the form above. Microsoft will then send you follow-up emails with steps describing how to set up your environment, including creation of a server in one of the eligible regions and creation of a data warehouse instance. Then you will need to send over the names of the server, instance and your Azure ID to us. We will then activate your free trial. Note that it may take time to activate the free trial, and you may be put on waitlist.

Microsoft reserves the right to refuse to activate your free trial if it suspects that you have provided fraudulent information, have already exercised a free trial under a different name/Azure ID, or for any reason, in its sole discretion.

You may cancel the free trial or your subscription at any time by deleting your database warehouse instance from your system. So long as you have the database warehouse instance on your system, you will be charged general availability rates on the payment card associated with your Azure account. More details on pricing and billing can be found on our pricing page.

If you continue using Azure SQL Data Warehouse after the expiration of the one-month trial period, you will automatically be charged standard rates on the payment card associated with your Azure account. More details on pricing and billing can be found on our pricing page. We will provide you email notice at the email address you used to register for the free trial before the end of the one-month trial period.

You may cancel the free trial or your subscription at any time by deleting your database warehouse instance from your system. Payment is required for all outstanding fees incurred.

For information about what we do with your data when the free trial period is over, see “What happens to my data after the free trial period is over?”

If you choose to continue using the Azure SQL Data Warehouse service after the free trial is over, your data will still be available in the same server and you can continue running queries on the data as you did during the trial period, and you will automatically be charged standard rates. More details on pricing and billing can be found on our pricing page. You can also take advantage of scaling to higher compute power than 200 DWU (Data Warehouse Units).

If you choose to discontinue the Azure SQL Data Warehouse service by deleting your data warehouse instance from your system, your data will be saved for 7 days for recovery purposes. At the end of 7 days, your data will be deleted from the system.
