er diagram, relational data model, erd DeZign for Databases is an intuitive database design and modeling tool for developers and DBA's that can help you model, create and maintain databases. The software uses entity relationship diagrams (ERDs, data models) to graphically design databases and automatically generates the most popular SQL and desktop databases.

DeZign for Databases offers a sophisticated visual data modeling environment for database application development that makes your database development process much easier. The tool reduces faults in database development and improves your productivity. You can visualize database structures to understand your database, create new databases or reverse-engineer existing databases to modify, document, analyze, and optimize.

The tool is extremely easy to use. Whether you are a beginner or an expert database modeler, you will find your way in the tool very easily. DeZign for Databases provides all the features you expect in a professional database modeling and design tool.

We've been a Datanamic customer for two years, and use their product DeZign for Databases. We switched away from a well-known competitive data modeling tool because we just couldn't justify the expense and complexity of that high-end tool any longer. DeZign for Databases provides all the functionality we need, at a fraction of the cost. DeZign for Databases is easy to use, and Datanamic has been very responsive to our issues and suggestions. We're very pleased and happy we made the switch.

DeZign for Databases Key Features and Benefits

Visual Database Modeling. DeZign for Databases offers a intuitive visual interface that allows you to accurately design your database. It uses entity relationship diagrams (ERDs) to graphically design databases and produces high quality database data models, enabling you to present your design at various levels of detail.

Collaborative Modeling. If you need to develop large models with many modelers, you might prefer to store your model in a (server-based) repository database. The Datanamic Repository is a central repository database to store your data models. With the Datanamic Repository more than one user can work on the same data model. You can connect to the Datanamic Repository with the Teamwork Edition of DeZign for Databases.

Database Specific Models or Database-Independent Models. DeZign for Databases supports modeling for a specific target DBMS (physical) and it supports database-independent modeling with portable data types (logical).

Easy-to-Use Modeling Environment. The industry standard modeling processes are followed and the tool has a well-designed user interface which decreases the user's learning curve.

Report Publishing Functions. Customizable data model reports with different levels of detail can be generated. Descriptions and other relevant information will be exported to HTML, MS Word or PDF.

Generate Databases. Generate complete DDL scripts to create your database or generate your database directly.

Import Databases. Derive a graphical data model from existing databases. Reverse engineer from the database directly or import from a SQL script.

Database/Model Synchronization. Our data modeling product offers bi-directional compare and synchronize functionality for all synchronization use cases: model-to-database, model-to-script, database-to-model, script-to-model, model-to-model.

In addition, we want to suggest you Graphic Design Colleges.

Better Database Designs. You can validate a model for errors any time during the design process. During validation, DeZign for Databases checks to make sure the elements in your model are correct and complete. Reusable objects (domains and attribute packages) and name templates promote consistent database object definitions.

Supported Databases

DeZign for Databases supports more than 15 databases including Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server, MS Access, DB2 and PostgreSQL. A complete list of supported databases can be found in the supported databases overview.

DeZign for Databases' features vary by product edition. DeZign for Databases is available in four editions to accommodate your data modeling and database maintenance needs:

  • DeZign for Databases Standard
  • DeZign for Databases Professional
  • DeZign for Databases Expert
  • DeZign for Databases Teamwork Edition
